The Enclave is part of the ship's Lotus Spa and can be booked by the day or through a pass valid for entry anytime during the cruise. The ship does feature kids’ and teens’ clubs, family-friendly movie nights, and evening shows including magicians. However, most of the entertainment is probably better suited for grown-ups, and the large adults-only pool deck and quiet indoor garden make the Majestic Princess a favorite among couples and groups of adults. Those trying to decide between the Ruby Princess and the Majestic Princess should know that the former is a better option for those traveling with children, with a mellower, more kid-friendly atmosphere. With a rich wood décor and a theater-style kitchen, it’s no wonder Crown Grill was named among the “Best Cruise Ship Steakhouses” by USA TODAY. Open 24-hours a day, the International Café located in the Piazza is the place for an ever-changing array of small bite meals, treats and gourmet beverages.

Majestic Princess was scheduled for delivery on April 4, 2017, in Civitavecchia-Rome. The ship (homeported in Shanghai China) offers many of the same special features as Regal Princess and Royal Princess. Among those are a multistory atrium serving as a social hub; a top-deck glass-bottomed over-the-ocean SeaWalk (extending 28ft beyond the ship's edge), Princess Live! Signature features of sister-ships Regal and Royal include multiple dining venues; cantilevered SkyWalk; multi-story atrium; outdoor cinema Movies Under the Stars; adults-only Sanctuary complex. Tai Chi at sea, ballroom dancing, Chinese satellite TV channels and subtitled Hollywood movies are among the Chinese experiences of “Princess Class”, rolled out to the local cruise market. Seating over 300 people, the Vista Lounge at the aft of the ship offers ample comfortable seating for quality time with family and friends.

And we can't help but fall in love as we spend a week onboard one of Majestic Princess' Mexican Riviera cruise itineraries. Onboard entertainment is offered nightly and ranges from Broadway-style shows to more standard trivia nights and game shows. These are complemented by an abundance of live musical performances throughout the ship, from the Majestic Princess Ensemble performing jazz in the Piazza atrium to piano performances in the Crown Grill Bar. Majestic Princess is a musical ship by night; don't be surprised to find yourself bypassing the more flashy production shows to sip a glass of wine in the Piazza instead. Regrettably, these pay-by-the-hour Sing at Sea Karaoke private rooms are not available on U.S. sailings. Tucked away behind the adults-only Hollywood Pool Club lies the Hollywood Conservatory, hidden in plain sight. This in-the-know area is not found on any other Princess ship, and is one of our absolute favorite spots onboard. Created as another feature specifically designed for the Asian market, the Conservatory is located at the very front of the ship on the Deck 17 Sun Deck. On other ships this area is outfitted as The Sanctuary, an outdoor, adults-only relaxation retreat.

Passenger diversity is lacking onboard the Majestic Princess, at least on sailings out of Los Angeles. Fellow cruisers on our sailing to the Mexican Riviera were almost all firmly overly 65 years old, white, retired and from Southern California or elsewhere in the U.S.-- and they were having a blast. Social but not rambunctious, passengers on Majestic tended to be most active during the day and early evening hours, watching movies by the pool by day and dancing to live music in the atrium in the evening. Nighttime entertainment shows were full, and very few seemed to mind that the ship replaced the nightclub with the Double Down Bar.

In April 2024 Princess Cruises announced that starting September 14th (2024) fleetwide would be introduced 3 distinct main dining/dinner table service options – Traditional, Reservable, and Walk-in Anytime. By the new program (introduced with Sun Princess) on each ship are allocated 3 separate dining rooms - one for Traditional dining (offering early and late dinner seating), one with Reservable times, and one for Walk-in Anytime (open-seating). The new options are integrated with the OceanNow service, allowing anything to be ordered anytime, and delivered anywhere onboard. There is a wide selection of staterooms accommodating up to four guests, and you’ll enjoy substantial savings on your third and fourth guests.
I can't help but wish some of these original venues were left intact, even though there is still enough onboard that makes Majestic Princess a one-of-a-kind experience, no matter where the ship sails. Although Majestic Princess is equipped with kids clubs for different ages, we don't recall seeing a single child onboard (likely due to the combination of mature passengers and vaccination requirements). Most passengers were coupled, though there were a few large family groups (all with grown children).
Passengers will find plenty of favorites expanded upon aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship, like the popular International Cafe, with its coffees, pastries and light bites. Across the way, Vines serves up vintages from around the globe, while the ship's best-kept secret may very well be the pizzas and pasta found in the superb (and completely free) Alfredo's that sits adjacent to the atrium on Deck 6. Passengers may also be pleasantly surprised at just how much top-deck space Majestic Princess offers. There is an abundance of open space throughout, with some fabulous vantage points offered from Decks 18 forward and aft, and of course, the hidden gem that is the Wake View Bar aft on Deck 16. This sheltered outdoor bar is perfect in inclement weather, and is rarely found by most passengers.
There are also connecting stateroom options, as well as Two Bedroom Family Suites, with room for up to eight guests, which offer more living space, a balcony and two bathrooms, including a full bath tub. Make reservations for the main dining room or specialty restaurants at your preferred time each day. Fit in a formal dinner before a show, or order food and drinks to your poolside perch with OceanNow®. Choose a luxurious Mini-Suite with balcony which is substantially larger than a Balcony stateroom and receive a complimentary welcome glass of Champagne. Mini-Suites include a separate sitting area with sofa bed, premium bathroom amenities and two flat-panel televisions.
